If you do delete your "old" email account, it will depend on if it was an IMAP or POP3 account whether or not you will lose your email "history". You should check that you are using the correct BT settings as per this link You do not need to set up a new email account or delete your present BTYahoo email account. When I refer to email account I am referring to an email address. Can anyone help me through this so that I can get a working email account without losing all the history. However, I will lose 5 years of archived emails when I delete the Yahoo account. It seems my only option is to delete the BT Yahoo account and recreate it using the "other" option. However on my Mac, it won't allow me to create the "BT New" account with the same email address as the Yahoo account. I now have a "BT Old" Yahoo account with all my old emails and a "BT New" account which I use to send and receive. On my iPhone I recreated my existing BT account using the "other" option for creating new internet accounts.
BT website advised that it was because my account had been set up as a Yahoo account and this needed to change. First I could not receive or send mails, then I could receive but not send. I've been having problems with my BT email account since last week.
